Indamixx Laptop is the first pre-configured music netbook, running linux for USD$499. Not too shabby for those that don't want to spend heaps on their road machine.

Renoise, the modern tracker and music making software that uses a unique vertical time line for composition has announced the release of a Linux Demo. It includes support for ALSA, JACK, LADSPA and native Linux VST. I've been using renoise on my mac for the last few months and have found it fun and easy to use. So if you're a Linux user or Linux DAW person you should definitely check this out. that has a unique interface much like the old mod trackers has announced the release of a Linux version. It takes advantage of all the Linux sound architecture stuff that you'd expect from all the other linux DAW's out there but just don't get.
