The Coyote 1 guitar pedal is now available for order. It's an open source effects pedal that you can program yourself creating your very own unique sounds. I'd like to see some summer sounding tracks pumped out with this thing.

Here iTunes plug-in to auto beatmatch and mix your music great for parties where you don't want to think about the tunes. I haven't played with this but it claims to seamless mixing. Anyone have any experience with this?

The guys over at Create Digital Music have an article about a DIY digital turntable made from a mouse. The project was created so users of the open source terminatorX scratch synth had a cheap interface. It's amazing some of the cool stuff people come up with.

Beatport have just announced a new desktop application to help download and organize the tracks you buy from their online store. It requires the Adobe Air runtime to work, so you'll have to download that first. I just gave it a quick test and it will definitely help with sorting your downloads.

Gizmo over at skratchworx has an in depth review of Numark's new iDJ2 MIDI controller. This is the second version of the iDJ with some much needed revisions to make it more inline with the requirements of today's DJ. Great review that address all the questions I had about the device.

Beatport and Native Instruments have released a free audio player with DJ functionality. Based on Native Instruments Traktor and available on both Windows and OS X the software allows you to play, manage and mix your audio collection.
