In a Washington Post confessional, Pandora's founder and CEO Tim Westergren said: "We're approaching a pull-the-plug kind of decision. This is like a last stand for webcasting."

Westergren blames the decision of the Library of Congress' Copyright Royalty Board last year, which set rates for streaming radio services. These rates swallow 70% of Pandora's advertising revenue.

The people behind the mac DJ'ing application DJ1800 have released an update that allows you to play music directly from the iPhone and iPod Touch. Don't count on seeing this kind of app on the iPhone anytime soon, it just doesn't have enough grunt to support this kind of work.

The guys over at Ableton have just released the Orchestral Instrument Collection bringing the symphony sound to Live. It consists of four sampled instrument collections that make up an orchestra including strings, brass, woodwinds and percussion. All were sampled at different velocities and articulations to make up a massive 24GB of samples ready for use.

Gizmo over at skratchworx has an in depth review of Numark's new iDJ2 MIDI controller. This is the second version of the iDJ with some much needed revisions to make it more inline with the requirements of today's DJ. Great review that address all the questions I had about the device.
