Itz Goin Down: Million DJ March!

Where the hell is Katt Williams??? Can you just see him now addressing the crowd of a MILLION Djs on the National Mall?
Organized by A. Shaw, due to long lasting concerns of many in the music industry DJs often do not get their just due, especially when it comes to adequate compensation for all that they do to make the music machine move. Can I get an AMEN?
“DJ’s do not get recognized for the work that they do. Labels and major businesses who reap the rewards of default publicity, need to pay more attention and give more recognition to DJ’s for the promotion they provide,” she said.
The march is being co-signed by Civil Rights Activist and those who founded the Million Man March and has already caught the attention of thousands of DJs and DJ organizations.
The March and activities will take place from August 28- 30, 2008 in Washington DC, with the actual rally taking place on the 30 at 10 am, on the National Mall, extending from the Capitol Building to the Washington Monument. Disc jockeys will gather from all over the world to discuss the current state of the DJ, and highlight the true integral importance of their role.
A portion of the proceeds will aid in the rebuilding of areas affected by Hurricane Katrina

Anyone care to give a rundown of the event? In all honestly, as a DJ, I couldn’t see myself going to this “march” on one do the biggest holiday / DJ Gig paydays of the year. Why would any smart working DJ give up 2 days, of a 3 day holiday weekend to “march”?
