Android Cartel
"tech House" / Minimal / Techno
Android Cartel is a production team and DJ duo comprised of Reagan
Denius and Chris Mohn based out of Los Angeles, California. They’re style combines the sounds of tech house, deep house, techno, minimal,
and many other styles of house to create abstract inventive music that
takes its listeners to other galaxies, allowing them to sit in on
android invasions across the universe spreading the positive messages
of life.
In just the few short months since their inception in October of 2007, their music is being played and supported by the likes of Chris Fortier, Anthony Pappa, and Hernan Cattaneo, and Chloe Harris.
Currently, Android Cartel has seen two releases on Chris Fortier’s label Fade Records, and will be seeing a remix of one of Fortier’s songs on Australian label EQ Recordings, which named them as part of their “who’s who” list of underground electronic dance music producers. Both Fade Records releases have charted in the top 10 of the Balance Record Pool for underground electronic dance music.
Also forthcoming from the Cartel is a release on Mario Zar’s new sub-label of Wolkenfunken, Barei Records. Also a remix of an old 1997 tune “Do U Feel It” by Soundsation, the original which saw support from the likes of Sasha & Digweed, Chris Fortier, Anthony Pappa, any many others. The original was named by Digweed as his favorite tune of 1997.
Android Cartel has also seen releases on various other labels over the winter of ’07 into ‘08, including Red Circle Music, Proton Music, Tekfunk Recordings, and will be seeing a small release on Polytechnic Recordings.
Android Cartel is a member of the collective Expressions in Sound, along with Proper Villains. All three of these projects are the brainchilds’ of Reagan Denius and Chris Mohn. Expressions in Sound is also the name of a bi-monthly radio show hosted by Android Cartel, the second Sunday of every month on Protonradio.com, and the third Wednesday on Party107.com (for times and guests please refer to those websites, respectively).
