AVA Recordings 004: BAAS

3rd May, 2007

Written by: Chris Allen ( chris allen).

AVA Recordings has been generating quite a buzz these days. The latest release √¢¬Ä¬úYearZero√¢¬Ä from label originator Andy Moor along with Orkidea headed straight to the No.1 spot on the Beatport trance charts and stayed that way for weeks on end. Finally after waiting since the end of February we are now being liberated by the fourth release from the label.

The track is titled √¢¬Ä¬úBAAS√¢¬Ä and comes from well known dance guru's Slusnik Luna and Peter Lowland, along with a fantastic remix from Swedish producer Algarve. Fresh off their successful release of √¢¬Ä¬úLast Train to Transcentral√¢¬Ä we√¢¬Ä¬ôre sure to expect great things from these lads. The original starts with a nice intro into a thundering, driving bassline. The layering of this track is the beautiful part though with lovely percussion and excellent padding to feed it along. Then as with any AVA release, we are treated to a lovely selection of melody√¢¬Ä¬ôs and a wonderful breakdown.

Algarve takes a slightly different approach as he takes the reigns for the remix duties. He’s taken on a punchier rendition with much more emphasis on the lead lines, and it works fantastic. It has that David West style plucking along the way with some great string action. This sounds like it was made just for AVA.

This is yet another belter for the label. It’s punchy, yet not too energetic. It has a great melody and the flow is superb. Once again, AVA shines with a quality release. Look for it to hit stores around June 11th, 2007.
