Audiojelly Launches Independent Artists Store

14th November, 2006

Written by: SJ Regan ( sjregan).

Audiojelly have been known for cutting deals with labels to bring us exclusive music, but now they have taken the next step and are launching an independent artist download site.

All music on AJtunes.com is sold on a non-exclusive basis, so artists are free to promote or sell their music anywhere else (online or offline). Artists also have complete control of managing their own music content, and the choice to sell their tracks at any price they choose. If an artist or a track is signed up by a label, there are no issues involved - as every artist can remove their tracks at any time they wish.

A store like this has been long time coming, some of the social networking and music profiling sites have attempted to do this kind of thing to various degrees of success. I think the design of the site should stick out and be a little more independent of its sister store Audiojelly. At a quick glance it's not obvious which store you have arrived at. I really like the fact that this store also has RSS feeds, which currently point at Audiojelly's releases :)

I look forward to more developments from this site. Thanks Audiojelly!
