Sabre - A Wandering Journal

5th May, 2010

This is a journey into sound ... a journey which along the way will bring to you new colour, new dimensions, new value. That pretty much sums up the new LP from Sabre, who has continued with his usual style of laid back production, but has taken it to a new level and delivered a harmonious soundscape.

From the very serene "The Interprid" to the water-droplet sounding "Escapade", from the eerie horror movie-like "Peril" to the dark and subdued "Havens Verge" - this LP is definitely one for the headphones / lounge listening and not something you'll ever hear out in the clubs. Nearly all the tracks on "A Wandering Journal" are very minimal, featuring click beats and blips; and to me, very experimental and more of a chilled vibe than anything else.

Being an avid photographer, Sabre has also included a 57 page picture book, a follow along with the music, if you will. Included in this picture book is some very nice black and white nature shots.

"A Wandering Journal" is out now on Critical Recordings.
