Now I know this release is a bit old and well its been a busy couple of months in my life and behind the scenes at DanceNode. So I'm starting at the oldest information I have and will slowly work my way back to current news and reviews. So I'm starting where I left off and will be posting all reviews and news that has been piling up since then. Starting with this lovely release from AVA recordings that came out at the beginning of December.
"So Much More" the latest release on AVA recordings by label frontman Andy Moor is a trance delight waiting to be tasted. I first heard this track all the way back in March 08 at WMC when Andy dropped it and the place went crazy. The official release hit promo at the beginning of October shipping with the title track and four remixes. This was just in time for me to see it road tested on the Melbourne leg of the Godskitchen tour by Gareth Emery and Australia's number one tyDi.
The production quality of this release is second to none and you can tell that Andy Moor has put a lot of effort into ensuring that every release is of the highest quality. The original has been absolutely hammered around the place by all the big names. The melody and driving bass line can be felt from across the room thats nice and punchy.
Remix duties were assigned to Shawn Mitiska whose remix was heard a few times throughout the Godskitchen Australia Tour in October. You can hear the progressive house sound of Shawn Mitiska so clearly in this remix and I think thats what has me liking it so much.
Michael Badal gives the track a bit more of a trance feel with some catchy pads in the mix. He has emphasized the vocals ever so slightly which would lean the track towards a more open air audience.
Myon and Shane 54 have given us something a little different making the mix a bit more driving. Its reminiscent of some of the progressive trance of 2002. It's got a good build and keeps the focus on the lyrics which I like.
The final remix comes from Wandii where he's given the track a more atmospheric trance sound and bumped up the tempo ever so slightly. This would be a good track to get the people moving.
Ever since I first heard the original of this track I've heard it played all over the place. I think this is a track that will stick around for a while yet and will be a track people will pull out as an anthem/classic in years to come. I know I will. The release is out so be sure to support the artists and the label and grab a copy from all good download and record stores.
