MP Digital's latest release Electricity by Spookiisly is a refreshing tech house release that I quite like. I'm not much of a tech house guy when it comes to it, but the style has been growing on me lately and this is a good example. The release has three tracks, the title track, a remix of the title and a final track called Superphenix.
Electricity has got a groovy feel about it that I'm liking. It's got a heavier synth on it than I usually hear in tech house tracks which makes it very refreshing. The track has a nice melody that is brought together with the help of various effects that should get you rocking. The only thing I don't like about this track is its duration, its under 4 minutes and for someone coming from trance and progressive land it only feels like half a track to me.
Madstring's remix of Electricity takes a more DJ friendly route that increases the duration to almost double the original and has a nice long introduction. The dry kick and melody are slightly refined and pushes the feel of the track back towards the classic four on the floor house.
The final track on the release Superphenix is quite similar to Electricity which is evident with the groovy funk feel and the chunky bass.
It's releases like this that have me keeping my eye on the tech house realm and helps me expand my selection of tracks to share with the audiences. If you're wanting something techy and groovy at the same time you should give this release a look. It's out now on MP Digital at all good digital download stores.
Digitalchild loves his dance music. If he's not talking about it, he's spinning it and if he's not spinning it, he's listening to it. He is also the guy that makes the light go on and off.
