It's been a few months since we've heard anything from Orjan but he's returned and back on Intuition Recordings . Following on from his recent release "La Guitarra," Orjan Nilsen returns to the label that discovered him.
This release ships with just two tracks "SoulFlayer and "Villa
Blanca." This two track format reminds me of vinyl releases from the
early days.
It was back in 2006 when Intuition Recordings signed Orjan's EP “Arctic Globe” & “Prison Break” as their fifth release and letting the rest of the world hear his unique sound and production skills.
Sticking to his trance roots in "Soulflayer" Orjan has delivered a rather energetic track that has me bopping my head as I write this. I've slipped further into progressive land over the last year and its nice to find a fast paced trancer that I like.
The second track "Villa Blanca" is more on the progressive side although the press release describes it as 'Neo Trance.' I'm not even really sure what that is but to me its definitely progressive trance. It's a groovy track with a really chunky bassline that I'm hearing more and more in the progressive scene. It's the sort of track that you can just bop along to either in a club or in the car.
Of the two tracks my pick goes for "Villa Blanca" as I just can't go passed a good progressive track. "Villa Blanca" has been getting hammered by the likes of Sander Van Doorn and Menno de Jong . We've also seen "Soulflayer" play-listed twice on Armin Van Buuren's 'A State of Trance '. If you're looking for some good trance and progressive in a single release you should check this out. Available now at all good digital download stores.
Digitalchild loves his dance music. If he's not talking about it, he's spinning it and if he's not spinning it, he's listening to it. He is also the guy that makes the light go on and off.
