Chase & Status have done it once again, this time with the 12 Inch EP featuring Drum n Bass soon-to-be-anthem "Pieces" featuring Plan B and the grime / dubstep "Eastern Jam".
"Pieces" featuring Plan B is very much a crossover tune, with the track starting off sounding like some soppy Top 40 band, with the lead singer pining over having his heart broken. It is then, that the track builds and then drops with incredible anger-fueled adrenalin, dare I say, sounding like old school Pendulum. This tune is on heavy rotation at our South East Studio, along with clubs across the globe.
Whilst, I'm not a big grime fan, I don't mind some tracks in this genre and "Eastern Jam" is one of those tracks that's nice and heavy on the bass with haunting vocals.
Chase and Status (aka Saul Milton and Will Kennard) are definitely two producers who if you're not following already, then you should be. Their previous release "Take Me Away", which was featured in Andy C's Nightlife 4 mix, is still getting lots of club play.
"Pieces" / "Eastern Jam" is out now on Ram Records.
DJ Sikosis loves a good beat -- especially if it's accompanied by a fat bass. When he's not mixing, reviewing or listening to music, his other interests are paintball, gaming and music production.
