Muzu TV

I have been getting weekly promotions from this new service MUZU TV featuring some great artist videos from the likes of Basshunter and The Chemical Brothers. I was curious as to what this service had to offer so I went off and did some research and found that not only is it a new service to help bands and artists get their music videos out there, you get a cut of the profits for your efforts.

Unlike all the other social networking services out there, MUZU TV puts the content first. It's a tv website meets distribution platform that lets you broadcast your music videos online or for the fans, check out videos of their favorite artists. MUZU TV pays the bands half of the net advertising revenue generated from their videos. They have banner adverts as well as in-video advertising. Some might see these ads as a pain, but when you realize that half the money generated from these goes to your favorite artist I'm sure you can handle it.

MUZU TV

As an artist you create your profile and design it with a drag and drop interface then upload your media be it video, audio or stills then you're ready to go. You can create playlists of your music videos, interviews, backstage footage or whatever footage you might have. Once you've got your profile set up you are ready to start letting the fans know that you've established yourself on MUZU TV . Another cool feature is you can let fans upload their own video's of you under a fan section which you also make money on.

You don't have to be an independent to benefit from this service its open to any artist that has media to share with their fans. Create your profile, upload your content then you can embed the player into your profiles on other social networking sites or personal website. All the bandwidth demands that come with streaming video is handle by MUZU TV which is a great bonus. Also having the player embedded means you only have to update your main profile and it will be propagated out to all the sites you have embedded the player on.

For the fans out there you're able to create a profile, check out your favorite bands videos, create playlists of these videos and embed them in your own sites too and the best part its all free. There is currently over 5000 artist channels and its increasing every day so you should check out this great new service that I hope it will be around for quite a while.

Another side bonus is the site is nicely designed so you can find things and follow the site easily. It's still in beta but so is most of google so the 'beta' tag doesn't mean too much these days. You have to be logged in before you search which requires registration, but I'm OK with that.

So go set up your profile like you would on most social networking services out there, upload your media and you're good to go. DanceNode has been slowly working on releasing videos of events we have been to and a platform like this is exactly what we've been looking for. Keep your eye out for this service as it can only get better.
