In this edition of ´My City_My Life´, superstar DJ, Paul van Dyk takes viewers around ´his´ Berlin. He shows viewers around the East German neighbourhood of his childhood and talks about being a young boy growing up in an area where the communist party filmed their propaganda videos.
Paul also takes ´My City_My Life´ to the remains of the Berlin Wall, the physical divide that could have easily prevented him from finding his love of music. By managing to tune into West German radio stations, banned in his part of the city, he began a musical journey which led to his success today as an international DJ, producer and musician.
This program airs on CNN from time to time and it's great to see an electronic music DJ/Producer reaching such high levels as only a short time ago, all types of electronic dance music was considered 'underground' and not popular whatsoever. As with Berlin over the years, it seems dance music is changing for the better also.
