Intuition Recordings Goes Independent

18th April, 2008

Written by: Digitalchild ( dc).

After more than 3 years of working in conjunction with other labels, Menno De Jong has made Intuition Recordings an independent entity. What does this mean? Well it means that Menno and his crew will be able to build the label and expand it as is necessary with the freedom needed to move in their own direction. 2004 saw the introduction of the original Intuition Recordings founded by Menno De Jong and Paul Moelands which built its reputation on releasing quality trance. It now sits as one of the top players in the trance genre. So after three years of working with Fundamental Recordings and United Recordings the end of 2007 saw that it was time to expand and become independent.

From April 1st Intuition will be headquartered out of Eindhoven, The Netherlands. To kick off this new found independence the three-headed operation will introduce two brand new sub labels Intuition Deep and Stellar Sounds launching them just before summer begins. Intuition Recordings will keep its focus on quality trance releases while Intuition Deep will have its focus set on progressive and deep trance that will continue to follow the focus of the global brand, 'Follow your musical Intuition.' Stella Sounds on the other hand will take a very different approach. The idea of space being a vast place will keep the musical boundaries of this new sub-label as one of the mysteries of the universe. The catchy slogan 'Sounds like it came from outer space' combined with an ear for young and fresh talent provides the basic ingredients for the musical territory of Stella Sounds.

With this new territory to explore comes the signing of some excellent new names. Intuition Deep will showcase some of the current upcoming producers Leonid Rudenko, Jav D and Arnej. The first release on the label comes courtesy of Menno De Jong and his good friend Mark Otten that have teamed up to deliver 'Mad World' a mysterious deep trancer. Remix duties have been assigned to Swedish House Mafia hotshot Marcus Schossow.

Stella Sounds has already signed a large battery of musical artillery that is sure to get heads bopping. With the first releases showcasing the talents of Maarten Hercules, Dreamtech, Whirloop, Cesar Lugo and Topher Jones.

The first release on the newly independent Intuition Recordings will be from the Norwegian trance master Kimito Lopez with his latest offering 'Melkweg'. Shipping will be an original mix that is said to be sublime and melodic accompanied by an 'Alternative Mix' that brings a techy atmosphere. Following on from this will be releases from Airbase and Menno himself.

This is great news for Menno and his team and I can't wait to see what these sub labels can deliver. Stella Sounds is what intrigues me the most with the talent listed it'll be interesting to see what the 'sound' of Stella is. I look forward to getting these new releases and giving you the run down of the newly reborn Intuition Recordings.
