Menno De Jong has just launched a new monthly podcast this month, which will replace the popular Intuition Radio Show. Leveraging the ever increasing interest in podcasting technology, Intuition has decided that this will be the best way to get their message out there. Menno explains the motivation behind the big change:
“It wasn’t an easy decision since the radio show has been doing exceptionally well, but the more I thought about it the more it made sense, I’ve come to love the whole concept of podcasting because it lets you do much more with the content, and reach many more people with more consistency!”
The podcast will pick up with the radio show left off focusing on Trance in the broadest sense of the word. The content will vary from studio sets to recordings from live events including special guest mixes that will keep the podcast fresh. You'll be able to listen to this while your on the bus or doing that pesky assignment, podcasts make it easy to enjoy the music when you want to, where you want to. The December edition will be a studio set with highly exclusive material the January podcast will be Menno's traditional YearMix highlighting his favourite tracks of 2007.
It's good to see that artists and labels are starting to realize the power of the technology that we have available to us. He'll be able to have embedded album art or the tracklist inline all through an enhanced podcast. The best thing about switching to podcast on the fan side is the ease of use and access to the podcast, with all the different radio shows broadcast on an ever growing list of online radio stations it can be hard to keep up. Switching to a podcast means that you are notified when its been released and can listen to the show anytime, on any device that'll play it. On the producer side it takes out much of the overhead you get with syndicating your show and having it uploaded to heaps of different sites to have it played at the right time, on the right station. It also means that they can play around with the length of the show as they don't have a specific time slot to fill, they can make it shorter or longer as needed. I'm all for the podcasting so congratulations Menno and Intuition and I look forward to the monthly release.

Digitalchild loves his dance music. If he's not talking about it, he's spinning it and if he's not spinning it, he's listening to it. He is also the guy that makes the light go on and off.
