The year is 1989 and while I was running around playing with Transformers and wishing I was a Ninja Turtle, Hippie Torales was writing the house classic ‘You’re Gonna Miss Me’ by the Turntable Orchestra which sold over 2 million copies. Now today, almost 20 years later Cayenne Recordings release the Bush II Bush remixes ready for early 2008.
The duo that is Bush II Bush, Andry Nalin and Gregor Wagner have risen through the ranks with their fresh productions and remixes including their massive ‘Piano Track’ in 2005 and most recently their huge hit in Miami earlier this year, ‘The Road to Caracas.’ Now they've turned their hand to this classic house track providing two takes on the original thats sure to get some feet moving.
The simple bass edit has a modern bass line that keeps the vibe of the original vocals accompanied by a groovy rhythm. The funky pads along with engaging synths in the breakdown has me wanting to dance on the spot during some kind of summer festival.
The second take is the XXL version that has chunky swing beat to it along with Bush II Bush’s trademark piano sound. The vocals are still present but aren’t the focus leaving a punchy bass line to give it a laid back Sunday afternoon kind of feeling which is evident through the chic piano sound.
I’m not usually one for this heavy house sound but I couldn’t help but bop along to both remixes. If I was playing an open air festival during the peak of the day I’d definitely drop one of these remixes. If you like your house classics, you should give the new ‘You’re Gonna Miss Me’ remixes a spin. It’s out on Cayenne Recordings in early 2008 in all good stores.

Digitalchild loves his dance music. If he's not talking about it, he's spinning it and if he's not spinning it, he's listening to it. He is also the guy that makes the light go on and off.
