A decade into his career of productions, remixes and djing, known to the scene under eight aliases Andy Perring aka Pulser is still able to deliver a fresh release with his latest single 'Things you say' out on Maelstrom . Having spun at super clubs around the world such as Godskitchen (UK), Gatecrasher (Uk) and Spundae (US) to name a few, Puslar's productions have evolved much the same as his DJing has. This release is something of a combination of electro meets progressive trance ready for any dance floor.
The original mix opens with an ambient backing that is overlaid with the vocals that echo off to a nice energetic kick. The atmospheric riffs that accompany the raspy vocals make a nice electro, progressive trance sound. It has a bouncy feel to it that would lead me to play this at an open air festival.
Damion Powell (aka Genix) is first on the remix with an electro infused sound. There is a hint of jungle and an 80's sounding sample in the mix. The bass is pumping while leaving the vocals intact ensuring you know this is 'Things you say'. I'd throw this track down in the first half of tasty electro set just as I want to change the pace a bit.
Ambrosial brings something a little different with a driving tech trance remix that steps up the pace. There is a BT feel to the vocals that has a distorted reflecting sound. I would have liked to have heard a little more emphasis on the pads you can faintly hear in the background. The breakdown is very typical of a trance track, nice and atmospheric. As I sit on the bus home writing this review I can't help but bop my head to this pumping remix.
Andy Bagguley has touched up the track to turn it into pure trance. The driving kick and vocals that echo throughout lead the track down a typical trancer path of peaks and breakdowns. It has that euphoric element you hear in so much of the trance releases these days, I can't help but feel that it could have been stepped up slightly to make it more but this remix is still worthy of air time and I'm sure to drop it one of these days.
Overall I'd recommend you pick up this release including all the remixes as the variety of styles that are included make it easy to include Pulser's - 'Things you say' in quite a few different styles of sets. It's out on Maelstrom Records in December so be sure to check it out.

Digitalchild loves his dance music. If he's not talking about it, he's spinning it and if he's not spinning it, he's listening to it. He is also the guy that makes the light go on and off.
