Future Music Festival 08

27th November, 2007

Written by: SJ Regan ( sjregan).

After a couple of years of dissapointing festivals it seems Australian promoters are starting to catch the vibe and get back with the program.

This year the line-up for the Future Music Festival is massive with The Chemical Brothers, John Digweed, Roger Sanchez, Eddie Halliwell and Markus Shulz to name a few.

Unfortunately all the acts are only confirmed for Sydney and Melbourne so the rest of us will have to wait patiently for the next announcement.

Last year saw Sander van Doorn and Ferry Corsten take the stage in Brisbane and deliver stellar performances that were unfortunately marred by poor planning and mismanagement of the event. No audience member should ever be struggling to hear the DJ. We can only hope a better venue will be chosen this year.

Tour Dates:

Brisbane - Saturday 1st March
Perth - Saturday 2nd March
Sydney - Saturday 8th March
Melbourne - Sunday 9th March
Adelaide - Monday 10th March

Tickets go on sale December 10th at $95 + BF.

Preliminary Line-up:

The Chemical Brothers (live)
John Digweed
Eddie Halliwell
Sven Vath
Roger Sanchez
Markus Schulz
Robbie Rivera
Laidback Luke
Shapeshifters
Who Made Who (live)
Diplo
Mark Knight
Aesop Rock
Kid Koala

plus more to be announced.

It's nice when I get a release come across my desk and opening it to see its one of my favorite producers Dennis Sheperd. I was expecting something great and I wasn't disappointed.

The latest release from iO Music brings us an interesting fusion of genres with 'Love It' by Peter Jurgens. Peter has been steadily building a name for himself over recent years and this single is sure to get his sound on the map, with plenty of releases and remixes on a variety of labels like Superstar, Low Spirit, Audio Therapy and more co-productions with Oliver's Moldan and Klein.
