Jurgens - Love It

22nd November, 2007

The latest release from iO Music brings us an interesting fusion of genres with 'Love It' by Peter Jurgens. Peter has been steadily building a name for himself over recent years and this single is sure to get his sound on the map, with plenty of releases and remixes on a variety of labels like Superstar, Low Spirit, Audio Therapy and more co-productions with Oliver's Moldan and Klein. On top of his production schedule Peter is also a highly motivated DJ who believes he can make it without selling out.

One thing I don't like about our industry is how people are labelled with a specific genre of dance music. On first listening to this track I was having a really hard time pinning it to a single genre and with joy I'm able to report it is an infusion of minimal, progressive, electro tech-house with an uplifting presence to it, you'll just have to listen to it to get what I mean.

The original mix starts with a minimal sound working its way into a throbbing kick that brings an overall techy feel to it. The progressiveness is evident when the uplifting chords accompanied by a stringed element begin to open the track right up. I'd play this towards the beginning of a long haul set and for me, the well crafted chords are what stand out the most in this track.

The only remix is provided by Eva, a female producer fresh out of Kris Menaces studio. Eva brightens up the sound giving it more of a techy house sound to it that has a nice break beat mid way through. I found it to be a little short coming in at just over four minutes, which makes it good for radio play but not so much in a DJ set.

I'm not sure where 'Love It' would be placed in a digital download store so chances are I would have missed this release. I'm glad it found me as I can definitely find a place for it in my sets. It's available on iO Music so be sure to check it out at your favorite download store.
