If you're too young to remember Degrees of Motion don't be ashamed, I didn't remember them either until this track came across my desk. Do You Want It Right Now is an unashamedly house remake of their early 90's hit of the same name that brings some funk to the genre. The Smax & Gold remix brings on the funk heavily laden with the original vocals while the Haji & Emanuel is a progressive approach that lifts the original vocals up with some nice use of pads and synths that still tip the hat to the originals era.
I'm not naturally inclined towards the vocal stylings of the early 90's so I enjoy the dub versions more than their vocal counterparts. I find the Haji & Emanuel version really shines through holding a nice rhythm and roll you can sink yourself into. For those that love to tweak and remix check out the Smax & Gold 'Clapapella'.

The more astute audio heads amongst you out there might have spotted that Armand van Helden’s latest ditty I Want Your Soul also uses the same lyrical hook but lifted from the Seidah Garret original that Degrees Of Motion covered back in the day.
